Who is Jon Barinholtz?
Jon Barinholtz was born on December 26 1979 in Chicago to his parents, Peggy and Alan Barinholtz. He was raised in the Lakeview neighborhood. The actor is the only brother of actor, Ike Barinholtz.
His father used to work as an attorney in Chicago. Jon’s father has also worked as an actor and a producer in the past. While there’s less information about his mother, his brother once described their parents as liberal people with a great sense of humor hence they were raised in a very funny home.
Jon’s father is of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, originally from Russia and Ukraine while his mother has English, German, French, Scottish, and Welsh ancestry. His paternal grandmother Miriam Feinstein Barinholtz is related to the famous pianist, Michael Feinstein.
Through his mother, Jon revealed in an interview that he is related to Jacob Studebaker, the famous Ohio farmers. Studebaker is one of the three Studebaker brothers. Two of the brothers are founders of the renowned Studebaker car company.
The Actor Wanted to Attend Comedy College Instead of Getting a Degree
At the end of the Superstore actor’s college career, he wanted to go back to Chicago to attend comedy college at Second City and Improv Olympic and Annoyance. Before making the decision, he called his brother Ike Barinholtz in his junior year and told him he wanted to go to Improv. His brother has reportedly been very supportive and advised him to get his degree instead.
Since then, American actor and comedian has appeared in films and television projects. During his early career as an actor, he became famous for the role of Marcus White on the NBC sitcom Superstore.
In July 2021, Barinholtz became one of the creators of a new adult animated Netflix series Chicago Party Aunt. He was not only one of the show’s creators but was also an executive producer and voice actor for the series.
He was also added to the main cast of the NBC sitcom American Auto which premiered on December 13, 2021.
Jon Brianholtz Has Been Married to Annika Brianholtz Since 2016
The actor and his wife had a long-term relationship before they tied the knot. Jon Brianholtz and Annika married on August 13, 2016, at Honeyfund. Although there is a nine-year age gap between them, the duo reportedly share a great bond.
Following their marriage, Annika changed her surname from Krankl to Barinholtz.
Their marriage has produced two children. Apparently, one of their children was born with a disability. During an interview, Jon revealed the birth of his second child put him in a dilemma. Apparently, he ordered Pizza at the same time his wife was in the labor room and so did not know if to stay with his wife at that time or attend to the delivery man that had called him.

His Wife is a Clinical Psychologist
Jon Barinholtz’s wife is a clinical psychologist for an autism spectrum study. She is a graduate of Pitzer College where she bagged a bachelor’s degree in science and psychology. She also has a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology which she earned at AlliantInterational University-Los Angeles.
Currently a Psy.D degree holder, Annika has been a therapist at Valley Community Clinic. She worked as a psychologist at UCLA Sebastien study and at Vista Del Mar as a Postdoctoral Fellow.
As part of her work, she has helped children with schema and behavior-based group therapy with autism Spectrum Disorders. She served as an intern therapist at Mount St. Mary’s College for ten months.
Having worked as a licensed psychologist in Sherman Oaks, Jon Barinholtz wife works on medical assessments for the different sections such as neuropsychology, attention, and learning disabilities.
After her second child was born with a disability, Annika decided to expand her fluency and instruction in American Sign Language.
His Brother Had an Accident while He was Filming
Jon BarinHoltz’s brother, Ike started acting way before him. However, the two brothers acted alongside each other in The Mindy Project. Prior to becoming a comedian, Ike worked at a telemarketing company. He started pursuing his comedy career first before he started acting.
Jon’s brother has been featured in movies such as The Sidekick (2013), Neighbours (2014), Suicide Squad (2016), The Oak (2018), Late Night (2019), and Moxie (2021).
While Ike was shooting his film Blockers, reports say he had an accident during a stunt fall. Due to the accident, he had two fractured cervical vertebrae in his neck.
