Maddie's Wine and Whiskey: Meridian's new hotspot for adults
MERIDIAN, Idaho (CBS2) — It's a sports bar, banquet hall, dining and outdoor hangout space all in one. Maddie's Wine and Whiskey opened last month and has more than 8,000 square feet for you to enjoy.
Chef Jodee McDonnell says they have a large variety of food and entertainment.
"We have stuff from flatbreads, to smoked pork belly, brisket, as well as some seasonal salads that we do each month," said McDonnell. "We're a super rad place to come and enjoy. We've got lots of activities, from cornhole, to just sitting by the fire and drinking."
Director of operations, Mike Amoureux, says there's 6,400 square feet of dining space inside, as well as 8,740 square feet of seating space when you factor in their outdoor entertainment area. Maddie's Wine and Whiskey seats 471 people.
Anyone who visits Maddie's Wine and Whiskey must be above 21-years-old.
Just because Maddie's Wine and Whiskey is a bar, doesn't mean there isn't great food! Watch the video below to see how they make their pork belly harvest.
There are a lot of options at Maddie's Wine and Whiskey.
"We have a banquet hall by the sports bar in the back of the restaurant, which you can rent out for anything that you want," said McDonnell.
McDonnell says the banquet hall is a great space for wedding rehearsals and that they've already held several retirement parties there.
"There's a sports bar too, it's just a cool little bar in the back where you can watch Sunday football and have Sunday specials," said McDonnell.
McDonnell says they even have live music every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m.
The bar has more than 400 bottles of wine for you to choose from, as well as high end whiskies offered to their whisky club members.
"It's a good date night spot to get away from the kids and whatnot," said McDonnell.
Maddie's Wine and Whiskey is named after the owner's dog, Maddie, who sadly passed away.
"He just wanted to remember her and I think putting her face and name as a brand was his way of doing that," said McDonnell.
Before Maddie's Wine and Whiskey opened in September, it was a car wash.
"I think he just wanted a change and to kind of have a statement and mark left on Meridian," said McDonnell. "Everybody's super passionate about what they do here, all the way from the cooks, dishwashers, to management, waitresses, waitstaff. We're a bunch of really cool, awesome people who just want to give everybody a wonderful experience."
