Melody Thomas Scott is an American actress of Caucasian ethnicity. The actress rose to prominence due to the success and popularity of the 1979 American Soap Opera, The Young and the Restless. She appeared as Nikki Newman in the serial drama, a poor girl on the wrong side of life who became a stripper and eventually won Victor’s heart. This saw her become one of the most important characters on the soap opera.

For over 38 years now, Melody has played a very important role in the series. She is also a co-founder of Save the Earth Foundation, an organization mandated to raise awareness of the ongoing degradation of planet earth.

It was on April 18 and in 1956 that this actress was born. Her birthplace was in Los Angeles, California, and she was named Melody Ann Thomas. Melody was raised by her grandmother and would later attend the University of Southern California where she majored in music. Not much is known about her childhood other than the fact that she always had a burning desire to act even as a child, a desire she nurtured with the utmost care.

Her first film appearance came at the tender age of 8 when she was lucky enough to appear in Alfred Hitchcock’s film Marnie. Melody was thrilled to be able to portray Young Marnie in the film. In the 70s, she appeared in more films including Charlie’s Angels where she became Betsy Harper. Melody also landed a recurring role on The Walton and a number of other roles.

Her big break, however, came in 1979 at the age of 23 when she got the chance to play the character of Nikki Newman on the Daytime series, The Young and the Restless. In a short time, her character was refined and she became a full member of Genoese society. That same year, she starred in various TV shows such as; Rockford Files in which she starred as Sherry, Billy where she portrayed Shirley and Makin It which saw her act as Paula. The latter was not a very successful effort. In fact, it’s already been ranked as one of the worst TV shows of all time.

Scott. It is said that she met Edward on the set of The Young and the Restless; with him being the executive producer. Their marriage has already survived three decades and looking at how things are going for them, there is no separation.

Melody and her husband Scott are parents to three children named Elizabeth Scott, Jennifer Scott and Alexandra Scott. Alexandra was adopted by her husband Scott from her previous marriage.
