Owner of the missing Harmony Emporium is discovered dead in the Allegheny River.
The Allegheny River was the scene of the discovery of a deceased Harmony man on Saturday, October 8. Tod DiMinno, 54, of Harmony, was identified by police as the driver of the red Honda Civic automobile that had been recovered from the Allegheny River. DiMinno was last seen on September 28 and went missing on September 30. In response to reports of a male body inside a vehicle submerged in the Allegheny River at around 12:45 on Saturday, Pittsburgh police were sent to the North Shore Riverwalk next to the Mister Rogers statue. After finding the car around 30 yards from the river bank and 16 feet underwater, a film crew from the Oregon-based YouTube series “Adventures with Purpose” contacted Pittsburgh River Rescue. According to a press release from Pittsburgh Public Safety, the vehicle was pulled from the water by divers from the film crew working with the Pittsburgh River Rescue, police, and firemen.DiMinno, the proprietor of the Harmony Emporium, was last seen there on Wednesday, September 28. He was reported missing two days later.
Bret Myers, a Zelienople police officer, claims that the cause and manner of death have not yet been determined by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner.
